  • Welcome to an exciting year of writing! In this class, we’ll build strong writing skills from the ground up, starting with solid sentence structure and growing into powerful, well-organized paragraphs and essays.

    What to Expect:

    • We’ll begin with the basics, crafting clear and complete sentences before moving into more complex writing structures.

    • Brainstorming, organizing, and planning will be key as we turn our thoughts into strong, structured writing.

    • We’ll dive into topic sentences, closing sentences, and all the details in between to make our writing flow!

    Our Writing Structures:

    • Hamburger Method: A fun way to learn paragraph structure, with a strong topic sentence (the top bun), supporting details (the fillings), and a closing sentence (the bottom bun).

    • TEAR Method: As we grow as writers, we’ll move into a more advanced approach—Topic Sentence, Evidence, Analysis, and Return to Topic—helping us write with depth and clarity.

    Engaging & Fun Writing Topics!
    We’ll write about high-interest topics that make learning exciting! Some projects will be completed in class and turned in each week, while others will be optional for extra practice at home.

    This class will strengthen grammar, boost confidence, and spark creativity—helping every student become a strong, expressive writer! Let’s get started on this writing adventure!
