Sewing Studio

In this fun, hands-on sewing class, students will learn real sewing skills while creating stylish projects they’ll actually be excited to take home and use!

Each week, students will work with sewing machines, fabric, patterns, and design tools as they create trendy projects like tote bags, zippered pouches, scrunchies, plushies, crossbody bags, mini-quilts, and beginner clothing pieces.

Students will learn sewing machine safety, straight stitching, fabric cutting, seams, zippers, elastic, pattern reading, simple garment construction, and creative design techniques, all through step-by-step instruction in a relaxed and encouraging class environment.

This class is perfect for creative kids who love fashion, crafting, designing, or working with their hands. Along the way, students will build confidence, patience, problem-solving skills, and a sense of joy in making something from start to finish.

No sewing experience is needed, just creativity and a willingness to learn!

Student Required Supplies: Basic Sewing Machine, machine thread, fabric scissors, seam ripper, fabric marker or chalk, ruler, poly-fil stuffing (medium size bag), folder to keep handouts & patterns, heavy-duty or denim sewing machine needles. Teacher will provide some fabrics and supplies.

Semester Dates: Fall - 8/31/26-12/14/26, Spring - 1/25/27-5/20/27
